Besides what appears to be a genuine desire to improve IT’s effect on the environment, the group is endeavoring to reduce the bottom line impact of server rooms and data centers by combating rising energy costs and constrained capacity with technology and sound management processes.

In short, they’ll help take the guesswork out of designing, retrofitting or outfitting data centers so that they can operate as efficiently as possible. How? With research and online tools, not to mention publishing guides and best practices on a regular basis.
