If you’re a customer of NetSuite’s Web-based ERP and CRM software as a service (SaaS) offerings, you and 6,000 of your peers are saving $61 million a year according to an EcoMetrics study conducted for the firm by Greenspace. Environmentally, that amounts to approximately 423,000 metric tons of CO2 and 595 million kilowatt-hours of energy production.
Since customers don’t have to acquire and power servers for those functions, Greenspace figures that the average customer pays $10,000 less on electricity a year. The savings can balloon to $100,000 a year if you factor in hardware, software licenses and personnel, says NetSuite.
