Sony today unveiled that the Playstation 3 Slim is a reality and that it will begin shipping in September.  Not only is the new unit 32 percent smaller (fewer materials) it consumes 34 percent less electricity.

Amazon is currently accepting PlayStation 3 Slim preorders.
