How about ten reasons?
There are benefits to telecommuting that go beyond working in pajamas and enduring a 20-second commute from the bedroom to your home office (sometimes, one and the same). According to this article in HowStuffWorks, there are some solid, emissions-reducing benefits to working from home even a couple times a week.
All of these stresses on the environment can be reduced in some small way by leaving your car at home and telecommuting instead. In fact, not using your car for just two days a week can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 1,600 pounds (725 kilograms) per year [source: U.S Environmental Protection Agency: Climate].
Not to mention the savings, up to a couple hundred dollars in gas money alone. And what better reason to go AFK than to give kitty a belly rub?
