Sad news.
Olivier Sanche, a pioneer in energy-efficient data centers, passed away on Thanksgiving. Most recently, he was in charge of getting Apple’s new data center in North Carolina up and running. Before that, he headed eBay’s data center group and helped the company’s IT operations chart a path toward a more sustainable path, culminating in its LEED Gold certified Project Topaz facility in Utah.
