Here’s a gorgeous new lamp that’s sure to catch the eye — and funds, hopefully — of fans of energy efficient LED lighting.
Mike Garner, founder of Manifold Lighting has launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding project to start production on Piccolo, a stylish, USB-powered desk LED lamp (don’t worry, it works with USB wall plug adapters) that emits a nice warm glow. Apart from looking really at home next to an iMac or a Macbook Pro, Piccolo knows a few other neat tricks.
Piccolo emits a nice warm glow, busting the myth that all LED lighting is harsh and cool. It also features a dimmable touch switch, a choice of three bases (etched glass, Carrara marble, and black anodized aluminum) and a built-in cable organization system.
As of this writing, the Piccolo project has raised nearly $20,000, half of Garner’s $40,000 goal with 43 days to go (fundraising ends Thursday Jan 17, 1:16pm EST). Should the Kickstarter campaign prove successful, Piccolo lamps will be assembled in Chicago, Ill.
That’s right, Made in the USA!
Check out Piccolo in the video below. Better yet, toss the project a couple of bucks if you can spare them.
